Event Details
On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. On this date, people within a 124-mile-wide band in the State of Ohio will experience a total solar eclipse.
Through a grant from the Space Science Institute, and its Solar Eclipse Activities for Libraries (SEAL) Program, we have a limited number of glasses to distribute to our patrons who have not had an opportunity to attend a program and receive a pair. You may still register and attend a program to receive a pair if you would like.
The glasses provided conform to and meet the transmission requirements of ISO 12312-2, Filters for Direct Observation of the Sun. The glasses were manufactured by American Papers Optics, LLC.
We are limiting the number of glasses to FOUR per HOUSEHOLD. Please share glasses with household members to allow more people in the community a chance to receive glasses. Only one registration per household is allowed. Duplicate registrations will be removed without notice. If you do not list your address, your registration may be canceled. If you request more than 4, you will only receive up to 4. You must be 18 or over to request glasses.
Pick-up starts 3/23 through 4/1 during open hours, is in-person, and MUST be picked up by the registered person. You must have a photo ID to pick up the glasses. Glasses not picked up by the end of the day on 4/1 will be given away.
